FREDONIA: Marion L. Roach (nee:Ferry), 92, a resident of WCA Home, Temple Street, Fredonia, died Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Dunkirk, following a short illness. She was born in Silver Creek, on October 1, 1929, the daughter of the late Donald and Lois M. (Howell) Ferry, Sr. Marion worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for the former Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, retiring in 1989. She previously worked as a waitress for the former Harbor Diner in Dunkirk and worked for New Era in Angola, during the 1970’s. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia (Kenneth) Kaminsky, Linda (Wayne) Stolinski, Marion Matyjakowski, five sons William (Becky) Roach, Tom Roach, Jr., David (Carole) Roach, John (Cecelia) Roach, Richard (Michelle) Roach, two brothers, Howard Ferry and Kenneth (Linda) Ferry. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her stepfather Emory Bradley, her husband Tom R. Roach, Sr., whom she married on December 20, 1951 in Dunkirk, a son-in-law Rick Matyjakowski, a daughter-in-law Bonnie Roach, two brothers Donald R. Ferry, Jr., David L. Ferry, a stepbrother Robert Bradley, a stepsister Betty Haines, an infant granddaughter and an infant grandson. Services are private and at the convenience of family. The family suggests memorials may be made either to Susan G. Komen-Breast Cancer, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889 Dallas, TX 75380 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to any local library.
