Obituary Notice- Katherine “Katie” J. Kulpa

KulpaK1 KulpaK2SHERIDAN:  Katherine “Katie” J. Kulpa, 94, of Middle Road, Sheridan, died Saturday, March 1st, 2014, at her residence, following a short illness.  She was born in Steelton, PA on February 29, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Cunjak) Matesevac.

She attended Silver Creek High School and was a Part-time Manager for the former White Star Restaurant, Sheridan, for 20 years.  Mrs. Kulpa was a member of the former St. John Bosco RC Church, Sheridan where she was a member of their Altar & Rosary Society, a member of the Sheridan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed cooking, gardening & her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, John (Mary) Kulpa, of Derby, NY and a daughter, Mary (David) Fick, of Grove City, OH.  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren John Kulpa, Shannon Kulpa, David Fick, Michele (Fick) Bozeman, 6 great grandchildren Jonah Kulpa, John Kulpa II, Derrick Kulpa, Jade Kulpa, Kendra Kulpa & Nathaniel Bozeman and several nieces & nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Edmund Kulpa, whom she married February 18, 1950, in the former St. John Bosco RC Church, Sheridan and who died January 18, 2013, by 3 sisters, Elizabeth Hanley, Anne Matesevac, Mary Matesevac and 3 brothers, Michael, John & Anthony Matesevac.

Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Sunday afternoon from 1-3 pm, from where Prayer Services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Forestville, at 10 o’clock, with Rev. Daniel F. Fiebelkorn, pastor officiating.  Private Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Silver Creek.

    Our hearts feel for your family with your resent loss. Your mom was special, remember how she tryed to save the turkey! great memory, she surly will be missed, take care your pal civi.

    Sorry to read about your mother and also learn about the passing of your father. I have many memories of your mother and father when we were all much younger.

    I do not get home very often. If you would provide contact # via my e-mail I will call you the next time I am home. Possibly this spring.
