Erie, PA: Theodore W. Parker, 62, of the Soldiers & Sailors Home, Erie, PA, died Wednesday, May 1st, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, following a short illness. He was born in Greenville, PA on August 20, 1950, the son of Florence M. (Peterson) Lyda, of Meadville, PA and the late Duane J. Parker.
Mr. Parker attended Reynolds Area High School in Transfer, PA, served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt. during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, 2 O/S Bars & Marksman Badge Rifle M14. He worked as a self-employed Carpenter, having worked in many states. He loved to travel all over the United States, being in the Army and spending time with his family. Mr. Parker enjoyed people, riding motorcycle and had many friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy L. Parker, of Jamestown, Tracy L. (Gary) Jock, Jr., of Dunkirk, and a brother James D. (Susan) Parker, of Meadville, PA. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Patrick Parker, Douglas Parker, Tiffany Jock and Brittany Jock. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews. Besides his father he was predeceased by an infant sister Trina Parker.
There will be no visitation observed. Memorial Services will be held from the Sheridan Fire Hall, Main Road, Sheridan, on Friday afternoon, May 10th, at 2 o’clock, with Rev. Bruce M. Ellis, pastor of the Forestville Wesleyan Church, officiating, followed by Military Services conducted by members of the Dunkirk Joint Veteran’s Council.
