Obituary Notice – Patricia A. Ploetz

Westfield: Patricia A. Ploetz, 79, a resident of Absolut Care of Westfield, formerly of Star Apartments, Brocton, died Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born in the Town of Charlotte on March 1, 1946, the daughter of the late William and Cora (Schroeder) Cole.

  Patricia was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1965 and worked as an Assembler for the former Gowanda Electronics. At one time Patricia worked for Heritage Village and alongside her mother at the former Petri Cookies in Silver Creek; she also worked for God.

   She was a member of the former West Main Baptist Church in Fredonia and the former Calvary Baptist Chapel in Ellington. Patricia enjoyed crocheting and teaching children. She had a sweet spirit and everyone loved her smile. “Heaven is not a regret, it is a reward.” “What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus.”

   Survivors include a sister Sharon (Rev. Donald) Carlson, of Brocton, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Walter Ploetz, who died on June 3, 2009, and her brother John Cole.

   A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 6th at 3:00 PM from Fellowship Church of Brocton, West Main Street, Brocton, with Rev. Donald Carlson, pastor officiating. Private Interment will be in Burnham Hollow Cemetery.

    I went to grade school with “Patty” and have thought of her often during the years. I am sorry to hear of her passing and wish we could have connected at some point over the years. She remained in the same general area where I have lived since high school graduation but I had no idea until seeing her obituary. Sincere condolences to her family.
