Obituary Notice – Ralph G. Cervantes

Forestville: Ralph G. Cervantes, 85, of Chestnut Street, Forestville, died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at The Star Hospice House, Lakewood, following a short illness. He was born in San Antonio, TX on August 16, 1939, the son of the late Pedro and Isabel (Gonzalez) Cervantes.

  Ralph attended Unionville High School in Michigan and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Ralph became a shoe salesman after the Army and was transferred up to Buffalo, where he met his wife Sharon. He worked as a Production Worker at the Ford Stamping Plant in Woodlawn, NY for 30 years. Ralph loved cars and enjoyed boxing in his younger years.

   Survivors include two daughters; Tammy (Stephen) Hall, of Jefferson, GA, Kathy (Michael) Ferneza, of Forestville, a son Cuyler (Kim) Cervantes, of Saginaw, MI, a daughter-in-law Tracy Horton, three sisters Susanna Roznowski, Teresa (Louis) Cordova, Ellie (Dan) Sartain, and four brothers Benny (Lisa) Cervantes, Eddie Cervantes, Alex Cervantes, and Richard (Marilyn) Cervantes. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Sharon L. (Stroka) Cervantes, whom he married on October 26, 1968 and who died on October 29, 2017; a son Todd Cervantes who died on February 27, 2019; two grandsons, Logan Hunter Ferneza & Nathan Cervantes; a sister Carmen Cervantes and three brothers, Pete, Joe & Jerry Cervantes.

   A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care: The Star Hospice House – 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
