Obituary Notice – William E. Szymanski

FORESTVILLE:  William E. Szymanski, 72, of Prospect Road, Forestville, died Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at his residence.  He was born in Gowanda on June 24, 1951, the son of the late Major and Violet (Chzanowski) Szymanski.

  William was a graduate of Pine Valley Central School, Class of 1969, retired from Nestle Purina, Dunkirk and also owned & operated the former South Dayton Keystone for 20 years.  He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills & the New York Yankees.

  Survivors include his wife Deborah (Troutman) Szymanski of Forestville, whom he married on July 30, 1983, in St. John’s United Church of Christ, Dunkirk, a daughter, Jennifer (Steve Meadows) Szymanski, of Forestville; and a brother, Robert Szymanski, of Ashville.  Also surviving are four grandchildren Alex Szymanski, Nathan Meadows, Rylee Meadows and Emma Meadows.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Walter & Richard Szymanski.

  As per his wishes, there will be no services observed.  A celebration of Life will be held later.  The family suggests memorials may be made either to the Forestville Fire Department, Inc. PO Box 299, Forestville, NY 14062 or the South Dayton Fire Dept. Emergency & Rescue Squad, PO Box 88, South Dayton, NY 14138.

    Bill owned the garage next door to us for 20 years. We got to know him pretty well and we became very good friends. Bill was such a good person always helping others.
    Everyone that knew Bill could tell you what a great person he was and he will be sadly missed by so many.
