FORESTVILLE: Ruth T. Marsh, 94, of Eagle Street, Forestville, passed away at her residence, Saturday, January 6th, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born in Jamestown on September 25, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Nellie (Smith) VanName.
Ruth worked as a Caretaker for WNYDDSO, at the Villenova IRA in South Dayton. She grew up in Randolph and moved to Eden to raise her family. Ruth spent her last years of her life living comfortably with her grandson Adam and Ashlee.
Survivors include two sons Joseph (Ginny) Marsh and Stuart (Erin) Marsh, both of California; and a sister, Helen VanName, of Charleston, SC. She was the proud grandmother of Aaron, Micah, David, Adam (Ashlee), Joshua, Brian, Brandon and Liza. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Marsh who died in 2007, a daughter Mary Marsh who died in 2009, brothers John, Nick & Robert VanName and sisters Betty Casler & Georgia Grey.
Graveside services will be held Saturday morning, April 27, 2024 in the Randolph Cemetery, Main Street, Randolph at 10 o’clock with Rev. Colleen McHale O’Connor of Grace Episcopal Church, Randolph, officiating.
