Obituary Notice- Vivian M. Dickinson Beckman

FORESTVILLE:  Vivian M. Dickinson Beckman, 97, of King Road, Forestville, died Friday, July 20th, at Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, following a short illness.  She was born in the Town of Hanover, on June 19, 1915, the daughter of the late Ernest and Bernice (Hulbirt) Dawley.

Mrs. Beckman worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor for the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, for 26 years and also previously worked for the former Forbes & Wagner as a Coil Winder and wallpapered many homes in the Silver Creek area.  She made pajamas for all her grandchildren every Christmas, enjoyed quilt making, sewing, knitting, reading & watching TV.

Survivors include a daughter, Pauline Fox, of Irving, a son, Gary (Betty) Dickinson, of Forestville and a step son, Bruce Beckman, of Gulfport, Mississippi.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild & 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Kenneth Dickinson, by her second husband Walter Beckman, by a sister Evelyn McGuire and by 4 brothers Roy, Mike, Ellwood “Bud” & Rexford Dawley.

Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, from where Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. James S. Morrison, pastor of the Silver Creek Assembly of God Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Versailles Cemetery Versailles, NY.
