Obituary Notice – Carol L. “Dippy” DiPirro

DUNKIRK:  Carol L. “Dippy” DiPirro, 82, a resident of Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Temple Road Dunkirk, formerly of Forestville, passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at her residence.  She was born in Kenmore, NY on November 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Jackson) Hammond.

  Carol was a graduate of Kenmore West High School, Class of 1958 and worked as an LPN for the former Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, for 30 years.  Dippy was a member of the Pioneer Social Club, Forestville and was a volunteer with the Forestville Food Pantry.

  She like crocheting, loved her cats and enjoyed storytelling.

  Survivors include three children; Joseph Rogers, Lori Rogers Pope, of Silver Creek; and Donnie DiPirro, of Forestville.  Also surviving are four grandchildren; Justin & Jonah Pope and Sean & Christopher Rogers.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Hammond & a brother Richard Hammond.

  There are no services scheduled at this time.  The family suggests memorials may be made to Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut Street, Dunkirk, NY 14048.

    I am so sad. Carol was full of stories to tell. She had a kind and loving heart. She was an old friend of my parents and i grew up near her with her children as well as worked with her for years. God Bless you Carol ❤️🥰🙏
