Obituary Notice – Linda Krzal

Fredonia:  Linda R. Krzal, 73, of South Roberts Road, Fredonia, passed away Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 at her residence, following a short illness.  She was born in Dunkirk on April 23, 1950, the daughter of the late Meceslaus and Hildagarde (Dillenburg) Krzal.

  Linda was a graduate of Fredonia Central School, Class of 1968 and a graduate of Fredonia State College in 1972.  She worked with the homeless and marginalized in Florida and Louisville, KY for nine years.  Upon her return to WNY, Linda worked as a Toll Collector for the New York State Thruway Authority in Ripley, for 20 years from 1998-until it’s closure 2020.  She also taught first & second grades at Akron Central School for 15 years.

  Survivors include two sisters, Carol Krzal, and Cynthia Atzrott, both of West Seneca; and a brother, Ronald (Sharon) Krzal, of Fredonia.  Also surviving are one nephew Ronald (Sarah) Krzal, Jr., three nieces; Kelly (Dennis) Malloch, Karin Krzal, Jacqueline (Jeff Baughn) Krzal, one great niece Adrienne Malloch, and two great nephews Michael Malloch & Matthew Krzal.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother Richard Krzal and a brother in law David Atzrott.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, June 17th at 11 o’clock from St. Anthony Padua RC Church, 42 Orchard Street, Fredonia, with Rev. Bob Owczarczak officiating.  Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Town of Sheridan.

   The family suggests memorials may be made either to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of one’s choice.

    My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. I worked with Linda for years on the thruway and she was such a wonderful person to be around. We laughed so hard. I am going to truly miss her.
