SHERIDAN: Edgar E. Lyle, 80, of West Sheridan Road, Dunkirk, died Monday, September 12th, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Munderf (Polk Township), PA on April 30, 1942, the son of the late David and Twyla (Overbeck) Lyle.
He attended the former Munderf High School, Munderf, PA and worked as a Laborer for Owl Homes of Fredonia, for 11 years. Previously, he worked for the former Knowles & Fisher Foundry in Silver Creek and worked part-time for Domenico Farms. Edgar was an honorary member of Silver Creek Fire Department and Hook & Ladder Co. #1, Silver Creek. He enjoyed working, hunting, reading the newspaper and doing word searches.
Survivors include his wife Geraldine M. (Olmstead) Lyle of Sheridan, whom he married on November 25, 1961, a daughter, Monica Lynn (Bill) Walker, of Sykesville, PA; a son, Jeff (Michelle) Schaffer, of Tyrone, PA; and a sister, Betty Smith, of DuBois, PA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister and a brother.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Fireman’s Service will be conducted by members of Silver Creek Fire Department at 7 o’clock in the funeral home. Private Interment will be in Munderf Cemetery, Brookville, PA.
