Brunswick, OH: Stella H. Mierzwa, 87, of Brunswick, OH, formerly of Forestville, NY died Sunday, June 12th, at Brunswick Pointe Transitional Care, Brunswick, OH. She was born in the Town of Arkwright, on August 5, 1934, the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen A. (Hasinski) Glowniak.
Stella worked in Housekeeping at Brooks Memorial Hospital Dunkirk, for over 30 years, retiring as a manager. She loved to crochet and do search word puzzles.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Denise) Mierzwa, of Valley City, OH; a sister, Mary Duliba, of Forestville; and a brother, Stanley Glowniak, Jr., of Thailand. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Anthony P. “Tony” Mierzwa, whom she married on July 12, 1952 and who died on December 19, 1993, three sisters Julia Hart, Valerie Wann, Stanislawa Glowniak and two brothers Peter and Barney Glowniak.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM from where a Catholic Burial Service will be conducted Friday morning at 10 o’clock with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor of Faith Community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Town of Sheridan.
