FORESTVILLE: David T. Bishoff, 80, of Pearl Street, Forestville, died Thursday, February 10th, 2022 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, after a battle with Dementia. He was born in Manheim, West Virginia on July 11, 1941, the son of the late Clayton G. and Monawel B. (Riggs) Bishoff.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a Machinist for the former True Temper Corp. Dunkirk, for 17 years. Dave was a trustee for the former Village of Forestville, receiving a Commendation on April 29, 2005. He also coached girls softball in Forestville for several years and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and restoring antiques. Above all else, he was a family man.
Survivors include his wife Antoinette “Toni” Bishoff of Forestville, whom he married on June 1, 1967, in Dunkirk, two daughters, Julie “Jolie David” Harris; Jennifer, (Harlan) Kohler, both of Forestville; two brothers, Franklin (Shirleen) Bishoff, of Arizona; Duane Bishoff, of Virginia; three sisters, Mary Thompson, of Pennsylvania; Kathy (Steve) Petrus, of Pennsylvania; and Deborah (Dicky Reading) Bishoff, of Dunkirk. Also surviving are four grandchildren Joseph & Kayla Kohler, Allen (Jasmine) Harris, Mitchel (Summer) Harris, two great grandchildren Relic Christopher & Isabelle Nichole and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a grandson Christopher R. Reading, Jr., five brothers Clayton, George, William, Richard & Buck Bishoff and two sisters Geneva Schneider & Colleen Ballard.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced.
