Obituary Notice – Karen Joyce Benson

FORESTVILLE:  Karen Joyce Benson, 69, of County Line Road, Forestville, passed away Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, due to an accident.  She was born in Lackawanna on March 2, 1955, daughter of the late William and Joan (Simpson) Brose.

  Karen worked as an Aide for Lake Shore, Forestville & Gowanda Central Schools.  She was a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, Empire Chapter and was membership chairwoman.  Karen was an organ donor.  She loved hummingbirds, dogs & animals.  Karen enjoyed going with her husband to antique motorcycle meets and markets.

  Survivors include her husband, Loyd Benson of Forestville, whom she married on September 29, 1978, in Hamburg, a daughter, Chalis (James) Barrett, of Forestville; and a sister, Leah Scroggins.  Also surviving is a granddaughter Kaytlyn (Rob Ervolina) Barret of Eden.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by a granddaughter Madison Paige Barrett who died August 1, 2018.

  Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday August 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM from where Funeral Services will be held Friday morning at 11 o’clock.
