DUNKIRK: Doris J. Brown, 92, a resident of Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab, Dunkirk, formerly of Silver Creek, died Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Flint, MI on December 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda May (Ellis) Reeves.
Doris served in the U.S. Marines as a SSGT during the Korean War and worked as a Family Care Provider for the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, from 1972-1984. She was a member of Major Benjamin Bosworth Chapter DAR, Silver Creek and served from 1987-1988 as Chapter Regent, from 1991-1994 as District 8 Director, 1998-2000 as Vice Chapter Registrar and 2000-2011 as Chapter Registrar. Doris enjoyed doing genealogy, china painting, building miniature dollhouses and loved dogs.
Survivors include a son, Bradford C. (Jacque Lynn Kohler) Brown, of Amherst; a daughter, Laura M. Brown, of Silver Creek; and a sister, Marilyn Hegel, of Michigan. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Matthew & Elliott Brown, five great grandchildren, two nieces & one nephew. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ralph W. Brown, Jr., whom she married on September 20, 1953 in Goodrich, Michigan and who died April 11, 2006 and a nephew.
Services are private and at the convenience of family. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.

Hi Brad, so sorry to see your mom has past away. She was such a nice lady. We used to go to Flag Day DAR luncheons with her when my mother was still in SC. Always loved how she took care of those ladies that lived with her. Hope you are all well.
