Obituary Notice – Robert A. Tadt

TadtRFORESTVILLE:  Robert A. Tadt, 90, of Hanover Road, Forestville, formerly of Collins Center, passed away Wednesday, November 11th, 2015, at his son’s residence in Taylorsville, NC.  He was born in the Town of Sheridan, on July 13, 1925, the son of the late Joseph M. and Hattie A. (Wise) Tadt.  Mr. Tadt served in the U.S. Marines as a Corporal during WW II and worked as a Supervisor for National Fuel, Colden, NY, for 40 years, retiring in 1984.  He was a member of the John W. Dill American Legion Post #434, Brocton, a past member of Gowanda VFW Post #5007 and a past member & Governor of the Gowanda Moose Lodge #1382.  Mr. Tadt enjoyed doing carpentry work.

Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Raiport, of Gowanda; Carol Polvino, of Forestville; a son, Keith (Debbie) Tadt, of Taylorsville, NC; two sisters, Evelyn Tadt and Marilyn (Darwin) Hopp, both of Gowanda and a brother, Merle (Shirley) Tadt, of Millers Creek, NC.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides her parents he was predeceased by his 1st wife Betty Langhans, his 2nd wife Agnes Polvino, a son Ronald Tadt, a grandson John Polvino, 2 sisters Norma Jean Tadt, Alberta Cawns and 2 brothers Norman & Harold Tadt.

Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Sunday from 2-6 pm from where Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. Michael Pollock, pastor of Gage Chapel Community Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Sheridan Center Cemetery, Town of Sheridan, where Military Graveside Services will be conducted by members of the John W. Dill American Legion Post #434, Brocton.
