FORESTVILLE: Gerald “Jerry” C. Fancher, 74, of Route 83, Forestville, died Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Silver Creek, on April 26, 1942, the son of the late Harold and Frances (Williams) Fancher.
Mr. Fancher worked as a custodian & bus driver for Pine Valley Central School, Cherry Creek, for 15 years and worked for Blakely Construction for 13 years. He was a member of AA for 39 years. He enjoyed operating his antique scroll saw at craft shows and the County Fair, loved to do woodwork, especially toys for the grandchildren and enjoyed being with family & helping people in general.
Survivors include his wife Nancy L. (Morrison) Fancher of Forestville, whom he married 54 years ago on November 11, 1961 in the Hamlet United Methodist Church, four daughters, Rochelle “Shelly” Junghans, of Forestville; Kathrine (Joseph) Ridenour, of Patterson, NY; Amy Scott and Jennifer (John) Conway, both of Sinclairville; and a son, William “Chris” Fancher, of Fredonia. He is also survived by a sister in law Judy Houben of Youngsville, PA, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Norma Bouquin and 2 brothers Gilbert “Gib” and Donald Fancher.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville Saturday morning from 10-11 am, from where Funeral Services will be follow at 11 o’clock with Pastor Matt Wittenbrook, of South Dayton Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Arkwright Summit Cemetery, Town of Arkwright.
