Graduated from Dunkirk High with Walter in 1964. He sold new cars for a few years and I purchased a new 1977 Buick LeSabre from him. I see he later moved into the furniture business.
He was a good guy & a good businessman. My condolences to his
family and may he rest in peace. Ted Fellinger Sugar Land,TX

Our condolences to the Bates family. We were shocked to here of Walt’s passing. We loved doing business with Walt at D&K furniture. Walt was an old school professional salesman who treated you like a friend. We will miss him dearly.

I was saddened to just read of the passing of Walt Bates. Walt worked with and for my Father at Tom Miller Buick in Fredonia. He was one of the first employees my Father hired when my Father opened in 1971. Walt was a wonderful person and was like a son in my Fathers eyes. My Father had the utmost respect for Walt and I certainly have a lot of fond memories working at my Fathers Car dealership when I was young and being around Walt. I am so glad I had a chance to stop in to see Walt at his Furniture store back in 2009. I send my sincerest heartfelt condolences to all of Walt’s family. Robert Miller Mint Hill North Carolina
