Obituary Notice – Marian E. (Mohart) Taylor

MomDUNKIRK:  Marian E. (Mohart) Taylor, of East Town of Dunkirk, formerly of Silver Creek, passed Monday morning, June 29th, 2015. She was born in Silver Creek on April 2, 1934 and was a loving mother to Vicki Gage, Robert Taylor and Shari (Mike) Miller.  Mrs. Taylor was also a loving grandmother & great grandmother.

Marian loved to walk, dance, travel and pick up sea glass.  Growing up on Lake Erie, she was never far from the water.  Over the years, she worked in grape vineyards, the canning factory, Bailey Manufacturing and even owned a taxi business in Silver Creek.  Her last career consisted of watching her grandchildren and she loved every minute of it.

In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother Carlton Mohart of Silver Creek, a sister Dorothy Story of Collins, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren along with several nieces & nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Mildred (Frone) Mohart, a sister Evelyn Chapman and a brother Nelson Mohart.

A quiet woman, she will be greatly missed by all that she touched in her 81 years.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the East Town of Dunkirk Fire Hall, 10949 South Roberts Road, Dunkirk, on Friday, July 17th, at 4 o’clock.  Private Interment will be in Sheridan Center Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made either to the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse, 1 Lighthouse Point Drive, Dunkirk, NY 14048, the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut Street Dunkirk, NY 14048 or to East Town of Dunkirk Fire Department, 10949 South Roberts Road, Dunkirk, NY 14048.

    Dear Shari, Vicki and Robert,

    We are so heartbroken about your mom. She looked good when I last saw her and I really thought she would be with you all for a while longer. God must have decided this was best for her. I hope she is with my mom, I think they would really like each other. We are praying for all of you and your families during this difficult time.

    I am so sorry for your loss! Marian was such a sweet and kind lady. I pray her family and friends will find comfort in all the memories of special moments spent with her.
