Forestville: David C. Earle, 86, of Straight Road, Forestville died Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Perrysburg on May 15, 1938, the son of the late David K. and Dorotha (Potter) Earle.
David was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1956 and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Fredonia State University. He worked as an Instrumental Music Teacher for West Seneca Central Schools for 33 years, was a Proprietor of the Hamburg Model Railroad Station and a Choir Director.
David was a Man of God and a Servant of God. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed teaching instrumental music to children and loved to travel. David was a Master of Model Railroading and a Professional Antique Furniture Restorer. As an advocate and champion for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, he helped start several Group Homes. “He accomplished his mission.”
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Susan (McDuffee) Earle of Forestville, whom he married on December 23, 1966 in the East Leon Wesleyan Church, and a son Nathan (Lisa) Earle, of West Seneca. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Evan & Ellie Earle, Madeline Kandefer and Olivia, Emily & Ethan Dearlove, nephews Andrus & Earle Houck, along with four nieces, two other nephews and many great nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Jeremy David Earle, who died December 18, 2012 and a sister Barbara Houck, who died in 2013.
There will be a Private Celebration of Life held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750, or Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC), 15 West Main Street, Gowanda, NY 14070.
