BUTLER, PA: Janet A. Sauriol-Solema, 71 of Butler, PA, formerly of Forestville, died Friday, August 10th in the VNA Inpatient Hospice Center, Butler, PA following a short illness. She was born in Markham’s, NY on March 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Samuel and Helen (Hafner) Skelly.
Mrs. Solema attended Forestville Central School and worked for the former Ole Firehouse Restaurant in Forestville for 10 years. She was a former member of Dunkirk Moose Lodge, enjoyed arts & crafts, spending time with her grandchildren, flower gardening and was an “American Picker”.
Survivors include her husband John Solema of Butler, PA, three daughters Christine (Birt) Meacham of South Dayton, Vivian (Mark) Kania of Dunkirk, Eugenia “Ginger” Sauriol of Dunkirk, Vincent (Jennine) Sauriol of Forestville, two brothers Charles Skelly of Forestville, Ronald Skelly of Angola and a sister Betty Rizzo of Silver Creek. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Eugene Sauriol and by her second husband Robert Pilon.
There will be no visitation observed. Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon, August 17th at 1 o’clock, from the Forestville Cemetery, Prospect Road, Forestville.
