Obituary Notice – Daniel J. Olmstead

FORESTVILLE:  Daniel J. Olmstead, 58, of Forestville, passed away Sunday, November 5th, 2023 peacefully in his sleep, at his residence. He was born in the Town of Hanover on July 11, 1965, the son of the late Donald R. Olmstead, Sr. and Mary (Simpson) Sutter.  Daniel worked as a Foreman for Donald J. Braasch Construction, Lakeview, NY, for over 30 years.

  He was a social member of the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post #6390 and previously bowled at the former Forest Lanes in Forestville. Daniel enjoyed spending time with family & children, loved operating cranes and especially being with his dogs.

  Survivors include his wife Kelly L. (Revenew) Olmstead of Forestville, whom he married on July 27, 1995, in the Town of Hanover, two sons Daniel W. (Brenda Singleton) Olmstead, of North Port, FL; Patrick E. Olmstead, of Forestville; a daughter, Jessica L. Olmstead, of Forestville; two sisters, Laurie Gallivan, of Silver Creek; Angel (Ron) Lutgen, of Sherman; three step sisters, Diane (Jim) Andrews, of Erie, PA; Cindy (Chris) Parke, of Smith Mills; Sandra (Phil) Mahle, of Smith Mills; and two step brothers, Roger (Sheila) Sutter, of Cassadaga; Alan (Donna) Sutter, of Forestville.  

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step father William C. Sutter, a brother Donald Omlstead Jr., who died April 24, 2012, a sister Amy McCoy, who died August 11, 2023, and a step brother Gary Sutter, who died December 28, 2013.

  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced.  The family suggests memorials may be made to the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post #6390, 2556 Main Road, Silver Creek, NY 14136.
