Obituary Notice – Barbara A. Wall

CHERRY CREEK:  Barbara A. Wall, 78, a resident of Heritage Village, Gerry formerly of Farrington Hollow Road, Cherry Creek, died Sunday, April 10th, 2022 at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital, Jamestown, following a short illness.  She was born in Dunkirk on September 7, 1943, the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Rathjens) Dayton.

  Barbara was a graduate of Pine Valley Central School, Class of 1961 and a graduate of Jamestown Business College.  She worked as a Medical Secretary for Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, for 10 years in the X-ray dept from 1963-1973.  Mrs. Wall also worked with her husband in the former Wall’s Meat & Cheese in Sheridan and in the former Wall’s Sausage Kitchen in Cherry Creek.  Barbara was a wonderful woman and enjoyed being a homemaker.

  Survivors include Harold G. Wall, Jr. of Gerry, whom she married on September 26, 1969, in the Laona United Methodist Church, a daughter, Amy (John) Johnston, of Cherry Creek; and a son, Todd Wall, of Jamestown.  Also surviving are five grandchildren- Jordann, Jaiden, Jaren, Sabrina & Richard.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother Penfield Dayton, III.

  Services are private and at the convenience of family. Interment will be in Burnham Hollow Cemetery, Town of Arkwright.

  The family suggests memorials may be made to the SPCA, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
