Obituary Notice – David M. Fanale

SILVER CREEK:  David M. Fanale, 48, of Main Street, Silver Creek, died Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, at his residence.  He was born in Dunkirk on February 22, 1973, the son of Elizabeth “Betty” (Lucas) Bates and Dennis Fanale, both of Silver Creek.

  He was a graduate of Silver Creek Central School, Class of 1991 and currently worked as an Equipment Operator for Kuell Concrete & Asphalt Services, LLC, Dunkirk.

  Dave enjoyed playing & watching sports and music.  He liked the LA Dodgers, the Boston Celtics, the Grateful Dead & Elvis Presley.  Dave’s favorite players were Larry Bird & Danny Gare.

  Survivors include three brothers, John Fanale, of Hamburg; Brad (Kelly) Fanale, of Forestville; Christopher (Kim) Fanale, of Derby; two sisters, Lisa (Bill) Backus, of Watertown, NY; and Sue (Joe) Michaelaes, of Arizona.  He is also survived by several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather Walter Bates and stepmother Jeannette Fanale.

  Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock with Rev. Travis Grubbs, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Silver Creek, officiating.  Private interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.

    Denny, Betty and family – I was saddened to hear about David’s passing. My sympathy to all of you during this horrible time in your life. My God give you strength, comfort and peace today and all the days to follow.

    The Brown”s & DePreta”s would like to send our condolences at this time! I, Teresa, have known Dave pretty much my entire life. He was always very kind and always had a smile on his face no matter what was going on in his own life. Not a mean bone in him and he will be missed by all that knew him! To Daves loved ones, there are no words to make you al feel better so may you find peace in your loving memories!

    Brad, my wife I and continue to pray for you and your family through this tragic time. You always talked about Dave and how good you two got along. Carry those great memories you have with him always. In that way he’ll always be with you. Take comfort in knowing he loved you. Again, praying for you.

    I just saw this and I’m very sorry for your loss John, and your entire family. John was the one who turned me on to the Sabres back in elementary school when we were nine or so. Gilbert Perreault was my favorite player from then on. I’m very sorry to hear of the loss of your brother and you and your family are in my thoughts.
