FORESTVILLE: Richard J. Lokietek, 85, of Whitaker Road, Forestville, died Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk. He was born in Dunkirk, on February 6, 1936, the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Gawronski) Lokietek.
Richard was a graduate of the former Cardinal Mindszenty High School, Class of 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Proton. He worked with his son at Family Church in Fredonia, where he was a member and his son is the pastor.
Richard was a former member of First Ward Falcon Club, Dunkirk and enjoyed the outdoors- cutting firewood and doing yard work.
Survivors include two daughters, Amy (Charles) Restivo, of Forestville; Ann (Brian) Aldrich, of Sheridan; two sons Rev. Michael (Nancy) Lokietek, of Fredonia; Matthew (Christie) Lokietek, of Cherry Creek; a sister, Louise Anzalone, of Dunkirk; two brothers, Thomas (Diane) Lokietek, of Dunkirk; and Peter (Carol) Lokietek, of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren- Christine (Matthew) Walker, Stephanie (Bradley) Hofert, Kelsey, Lindsey, Sydney & Gabrielle Aldrich, Natalie, Sarah & Audrey Lokietek and Caleb & Lydia Lokietek, four great grandchildren- Hannah & Sophia Walker and Aaron & Amelia Hofert and many nieces, nephews & friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Carol A. (Styborski) Lokietek, whom he married on November 17, 1962 in the former St. Hedwig’s RC Church, Dunkirk and who died May 17, 2015.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, time and place to be announced.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Family Church, PO Box 179, Fredonia, NY 14063.
