IRVING: Christopher Welka, 65, of Irving, died Monday, March 8th, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, following a brief illness. He was born in Dunkirk, on March 28, 1955, the son of the late John “Jack” A. Welka, Jr. and Annette (Kaus) Welka Kramer.
He was a graduate of Silver Creek Central School, Class of 1973 and worked as a Certified Vibration Analysis Technician for Nestle Purina Pet Care Dunkirk, for 17 years, retiring approximately 4 years ago. Mr. Welka liked photography, metal detecting, loved motorcycle riding, car cruises and enjoyed working on vehicles. Family was everything to him and he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Diane Marie (Freeman) Welka, whom he married 43 years ago on July 2, 1977, at their home, a daughter, Carla M. Welka and a son, Todd (Holly) Welka. Also surviving are three grandchildren Alayna, Kaliann & Karson Welka and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his stepfather Walter Kramer and a sister Colette Schuler.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Sunday evening from 7-9 PM from where Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock with Rev. Michael Leamon, pastor of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.
