ZEPHYRHILLS, FL: Raymond Beck, 84, of Longview Avenue, Zephyrhills, FL, and Irving, passed away Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at Advent Health, Dade City, FL, after a long valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Buffalo, on October 3, 1936, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Hilton) Beck, Sr.
Raymond was a graduate of the former Pine Hill School of Cheektowaga, Class of 1955 and served in the Army National Guard. He worked for his father, the former Ed Beck’s Painting & Decorating of Cheektowaga and worked as an Optical Technician for the former Leica Instruments of Lancaster for 36 years, retiring in 1997. Ray was a member of the Hanover Rod & Gun Club, Buffalo Rod & Gun Club, Tri-County Golf Club and Rosebrook Golf Club. He attended the Angola Wesleyan Church and the Awake Wesleyan Church in Zephyrhills, FL. Ray also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Edith (Bradigan) Beck of Zephryhills, FL and Irving, whom he married July 21, 1973, in the Forestville United Methodist Church, two daughters, Janet Clark, of Perrysburg; Nannette (Robert Martin) Pollard, of Newfield, NY; a son, Andrew (Anne) Wilmot, of Forestville; two brothers, Harold Beck, of Spring Hill, FL; and Edward (Patricia) Beck, Jr., of Hamburg. Also surviving are a daughter in law Melinda Wilmot of Dunkirk, eight grandchildren, ten grandchildren and several cousins, nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son Shawn Wilmot, who died December 9, 2014.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when the Covid restrictions are removed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Angola Wesleyan Church, 636 Herr Road Angola, NY 14006 or to the Awake Wesleyan Church, 38924 C Avenue, Zephyrhills, FL 33542.
