FORESTVILLE: Nancy L. Panek, 70, of Creek Road, Forestville, died Monday, August 24th, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, following a short illness. Nancy was born in Silver Creek, on February 9, 1950, the daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Gawronski) Panek.
She was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1968, worked for Bailey Manufacturing for several years, Merritt Estate Winery and the former Johnson Adult Home, all of Forestville. Nancy was a former member of the Forestville Fire Department as Fire Police and the Chautauqua County Volunteer Fire Police Response Team. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of animals.
Survivors include a daughter, Stacey (Jasen) Erick, of Fredonia; a son, Jeffrey (Kristin) Kuciapinski, of Downington, PA; two sisters, Rose Hafner, Rita Lathrop, and a brother, Donald Panek. She is also survived by her longtime companion Stan Jopek of Forestville, five grandchildren Madeline, Emma, Lily Kuciapinski, Brooke & Laural Erick and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Theresa Schmidt and two brothers Richard and Walter Panek.
There will be no visitation observed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning, November 28, 2020 at 11 o’clock from Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, masks are required and capacity is 33% (approximately 53 people).
