Obituary Notice – James E. “Jim” Scofield

FORESTVILLE:  James E. “Jim” Scofield, 71, of Dye Road, Forestville, passed away Thursday, May 21st, 2020 at the Dunkirk Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Dunkirk, following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Buffalo, on May 8, 1949, the son of the late Edwin A. and Rosemary (Fix) Scofield.

James was a graduate of Lancaster High School and was a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving as a Medic during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a Filter Operator for the Erie County Water Authority in Sturgeon Point, for 25 years, retiring in June 2004.

Survivors include his wife Theresa (Monin) Scofield of Forestville, whom he married on September 20, 1976, in the Town of Villenova and two sisters, Linda Sturm, of Cowlesville; and Margaret Dauman, of Dennison, TX.  Private funeral services will be held with Military Honors from Riles & Woolley Funeral Home in Forestville, with Rev. James Witherington, Jr., Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

    Dear Scofield and Monin families, I am so sorry for your loss. Jim always produced and produces a smile on my lips, as a loving and adventurous cousin.     Peggy and Linda, i am so sorry to hear of your loss. He was a big part of my life back in the day. I have so many good memories. Please accept my condolences and my sympathy to Terry’ family as well.
