SILVER CREEK: Dolores M. Valvo, 87, of Burgess Street, Silver Creek, formerly of Forestville, died Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness. She was born in Silver Creek, on May 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Herbert P. and Gertrude F. (Gunther) White.
Mrs. Valvo worked as a cleaner for many people in the area. She previously attended Forestville United Methodist Church, Forestville, was a member of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Ladies Auxiliary, Forestville and a member of the former Forestville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Logan, of Silver Creek; Nancy Smith, of Dunkirk; Donna (Alan) Sutter, of Forestville; two sons George Hegner, of Fredonia; Ronald Hegner, of Jamestown; and a sister, Dorothy (Milton) Schneider, of Forestville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Carl B. Valvo, whom she married on August 12, 1977 and who died April 10, 1992, two sisters Evelyn Stott, Barbara Wilt and two brothers Eugene & Pete White.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Friday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. Michael Leamon, pastor of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, Silver Creek, officiating. Private Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery.
