FORESTVILLE: Mary Joan Fleming, 87, of Academy Street, Forestville, passed away Thursday, December 26th, 2019 at her residence, following a brief illness. She was born in Ellwood City, PA on February 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Rinker) Burr.
Mrs. Fleming was a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She worked as a Substitute Teacher for Forestville Central School, Forestville, for 20 years and also at one time worked as an Assistant Librarian for the Anderson-Lee Library in Silver Creek. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Forestville Wesleyan Church for almost 60 years, was a volunteer with the Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry, Forestville for 10 years and was an avid quilter who enjoyed doing handwork projects.
Survivors include two daughters, Lauren Putnam, of Lockport; Jane (Richard) Wright, of Fredonia; and a sister, Judith (Earl) Mollohan, of Colorado. Also surviving are four grandchildren Rebecka (Anthony) Ramos, Cory Putnam, Emily (Bill) O’Flaherty, Wesley (Erin) Wright, two great grandchildren Dilara & Evran Sare and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband William Fleming, whom she married in Ellwood City, PA in 1955 and who died April 22, 2004 and a sister Jane Klindienst.
There will be no visitation observed. Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock from the Forestville Wesleyan Church, 9603 Prospect Road, Forestville, with Rev. Bruce M. Ellis, pastor officiating. Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Forestville Cemetery.

Emergency & Rescue Squad, PO Box 299, Forestville, NY 14062 or to the Forestville Wesleyan Church, 9603 Prospect Road, Forestville, NY 14062.
