SILVER CREEK: Dennis C. Russell, 64 of Chapin Road, Silver Creek, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born in Roaring Spring, PA, on May 25, 1952, the son of Donald C. Russell of Silver Creek and the late Betty (Pheasant) Russell.
Mr. Russell was a graduate of Lake Shore Central School, Class of 1970. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam and worked for the Ford Stamping Plant, in Woodlawn for 30 years.
He was a member of the Bear Lake Rod & Gun Club and the NRA. Mr. Russell enjoyed hunting & fishing.
Surviving besides his father are a daughter Jennifer Cochran of Jacksonville, NC, 2 sons, Thomas Russell of Youngstown, NY, Daryl Russell of Toledo, OH and 2 sisters Sally Valone of Dunkirk and Donna Merritt of Forestville. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Jessica Ippolito, Frank Cochran, Madison Russell, Tanner Russell, Logan Russell, Mason Russell and several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Russell donated his body to the UB Medical School for research. There will be no prior visitation observed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Time and place to be announced. The family suggests memorials in his memory be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.
