DUNKIRK: Margaret E. Mahnk, 81, a resident of Absolut at Dunkirk, formerly of Conewango Valley, died Tuesday, August 11th, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Sandusky, NY on February 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Allie and Isabelle (Perkins) Burdick.
She and her late husband, William, owned & operated a dairy farm in Conewango Valley.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Wayne) Ashley, of Silver Creek, Barbara (Jerry) Houghwot, of Frewsburg, a son, Bernard Mahnk, of Randolph, three sisters, Eleanor Ebert, of Salamanca, Joyce (Walter) Francis, of Rushford Lake and Judy Covert, of Little Valley. Also surviving are her long-time friend Herman Eganski of Leon, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 1 step great-great grandchild, several nieces & nephews and her dog Susie. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by 2 sons, Brian & Burton Mahnk, 2 brothers LaVerne & Duane Burdick and 3 sisters Florence Krotz, Mary Owens & Betty Crawford.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 1-6 pm. There will be no funeral services observed. Private Interment will be in Randolph Cemetery. To post condolences go to www.rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com.

Sorry to learn about Margaret. I remember going back and forth with my friend Beverly from our place on the Myers Road to the Mahnk farm and used to see Margaret once in a while in later years. My deepest sympathy to all her family.
