Jan, Nancy, Diane, Polly, family and friends,
My sincerest prayers go out to each of you…”may the God of all Peace comfort you and give you hope”.
Mr Meadows “is” a great man and may the memories of his service to our nation and our lives be remembered, as we honor him. A great husband, provider, dad and friend to many.

Here is a short story Polly and I discovered today:

One of my best friends I have had since fifth grade, Polly Meadows Butler just called me with condolences for my grandmother. She said she was calling from Sheridan, New York. When I asked why she was in Sheridan, she replied with “my dad [Nelson Meadows] passed away and I am here with my family. We are moving his belongings out of the place where he has been staying and the viewing will be Sunday and Monday is the funeral. We are having it at Riles & Woolley funeral home in Forestville”. We both realized at this moment, both her dad and my grandmother are in the same building together at the same time. My grandmother, Helen Ostrye will have her viewing immediately after Polly’s father’s funeral. You may not think this is so amazing as I do, but to hear Polly say to me “my dad’s burial site is extremely close to your grandmothers, only feet away” is most comforting to have a best friend, who at the same time, can comfort one another in a time of need.

Note: Nelson Meadows lived a short distance from Helen Ostrye most of their lives. I believe their properties actually connected.

Here is the link to the funeral home where Helen Ostrye and Nelson Meadows are neighbors again:

    Nancy and family,
So sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad… He was a sweet man. I still remember how patient he was with us girls and the chaos we caused as your Birthday sleepover. My prayers are with you as you remember your past with him.
    God Bless,
    Donna

Hello to Nancy,Diane & Polly after many, many years.
My parents, Jaye & Frank Mancuso and my brother and I lived next door to you on Rt. 39 and I babysat for all of you as youngsters. It was convenient just to walk next door. Amazing how quickly time passes!
We loved your dad and mom, they were great neighbors.
I married Rick Panek from Fredonia, who became friends with your dad at Darwins Health Club,
Condolences to ALL of your family!!

      Dear Marilyn:
Receiving your kind words at this time means so much.
We too, have wonderful memories of growing up next door to the Mancuso family. Your Mom cutting our hair, plush apple trees, playing on the “big rock” around the “hens and chicks.”, leaving May baskets on the doorstep, YOU being our favorite babysitter, why, I even remember eating dandylion greens with your Grandma! Thanks so much for remembering Dad.(so glad he knew your husband too:) God Bless – Polly, Diane, Nancy and the Meadows family.
