FORESTVILLE: Gary L. Sutter, Sr., 58, of King Road, Forestville, passed away Saturday, December 28th 2013, at Buffalo General Hospital, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Silver Creek, on January 6, 1955, the son of the late William and Beverly (Doxiter) Sutter.
He attended Silver Creek Central School and owned & operated Gary Sutter Trucking, Forestville, for 40 years. Mr. Sutter was currently Vice President of the Western New York Truckers Association, was an active member with Hanover Center Fire Department, North County Fire Police, the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club and the Buffalo/Gowanda Train Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding motorcycle. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family & friends.
Survivors include two sons Gary Sutter, Jr., of Dunkirk, Donald Sutter, of Stockton, three sisters, Cindy (Chris) Park, Sandra (Phil) Mahle, both of Forestville, Diane (Jim) Andrews, of Erie, PA, two brothers, Roger (Sheila) Sutter, of Stockton, Alan (Donna) Sutter, of Forestville, three step sisters, Angel (Ron) Lutgen, of Sherman, Laurie Gallivan, Amy McCoy and a step brother, Danny (Kelly) Olmstead, all of Silver Creek. Also surviving is his girlfriend Sue Wilcox of Forestville, who was by his side the whole time and several nieces, nephews, cousins & 3 aunts. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother Mary Olmstead Sutter and by a stepbrother Donny Olmstead.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday from 2-4 &7-9 pm from where Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. Michael Pollock, pastor of Gage Chapel Community Church, officiating. Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Smith Mills Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
