Obituary Notice – Marjorie A. Conklin

Forestville: Marjorie A. Conklin, 87, of Creek Road, Forestville, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Autumn View Health Care Facility, LLC., Hamburg, NY, following a lengthy illness. She was born in the Town of Arkwright on December 27, 1937, the daughter of the late Nelson and Hildegarde (Meadows) Ball.

  Marjorie was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1957. She received her LPN certification from the former Jamestown Nursing School. At one-time she worked for Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk and then for the former Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk for over 25 years. Marjorie was a member of the Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association and enjoyed spending time in Florida and traveling.

  Survivors include husband of 64 years, Clyde D. Conklin of Forestville, whom she married on January 10, 1961 in Florida, two sons David Conklin and Jeffery Conklin, both of NC. Also surviving are three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son Mark D. Conklin who died in 2009, two sisters and a brother. Interment will be at a later date in Burnham Hollow Cemetery, Town of Arkwright.

  The family suggests memorials may be made to Forestville Fire Department, Inc., PO Box 299, Forestville, NY 14062.

    So sorry for your loss. I worked with Marjorie for many years at the County Home. She was a wonderful person, kind and giving.After her retirement we out at to lunch several times. She will be missed.

    So sorry to hear this Clyde. It’s been many years since I was your neighbor with Curtis, but you both were the nicest, kindest, people to me, Curtis and my 2 kids. Much love and hugs to you!
