Joann was a graduate of Orchard Park High School, Class of 1959 and received her degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Erie County Technical Institute.  She worked as an Assistant Technical Director for Roblin Seaway Industries after college and loved being a full time mother to her four children.   Joann was active in the Grape Belt Seniors where she made many special friends.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking her special recipes & most of all, being with her family, including large Thanksgiving gatherings at their King Road home in Forestville, and cheering on the Bills with her son’s family in Amherst. Joann had an eclectic taste in music enjoying old country, Elvis and Queen. Her infectious positivity & sunny personality extended not only to family, but all who knew her.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Nigel Burns) Cruver, of San Francisco, CA; Kathleen Cruver, of Nashville, TN; two sons James (Jennifer) Cruver, of Amherst; Ron (Cathy) Cruver, of Cassadaga; and a brother, John (Barbara) Ujvari, of Orchard Park.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren; William & Emma Burns, Olivia Graves, Samuel & Thomas Cruver and Sarah & Madeline Cruver.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband James W. “We were so sorry to hear of Joann’s passing. She was such a wonderful neighbor. She had such a happy and joyful outlook on life. We will surely miss her but her smile is forever etched in our memories. We are out of town and unable to attend her services but we will keep all of you in our prayers.”

Ron and Cheryl – So sorry for your loss. I never knew your mom but she sounds like she was a great lady. She had to be very proud of her children.
