Obituary Notice – Daniel C. Bolles

FREDONIA:  Daniel C. Bolles, 53, of Fredonia, passed away Thursday, February 8th, 2024 suddenly at work.  He was born in Jamestown on October 30, 1970, the son of Ruth-Elaine Bolles Collver, of Wildwood, Florida and the late Daniel M. Bolles.

  Daniel was a graduate of Pine Valley Central School, Class of 1989 and graduated from the former Concordia Bronxville with his Bachelors in Elementary Education.  He was currently working as a Teacher’s Assistant at Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Fredonia, for 8 years and an Usher at Chautauqua Institute for 9 years.  Daniel previously worked at Concordia Bronxville for 10 years as a Resident Hall Director & in the Food Service, at Camp Pioneer for 8 years, was Manager for the former Pizza Hut in Fredonia for 10 years.

  He was a member of First Ward Falcon Club in Dunkirk and a member, elder & Sunday School Teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fredonia. Daniel was part of the championship winning football team at Pine Valley, an awesome cinnamon roll baker, a baseball & soccer coach and was a volunteer with the Special Olympics & bowling.  He was the loudest voice on track for Relay for Life. Daniel was a huge Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Blue Jays fan.

  Survivors include two step daughters, Ashley & Allyson Lycett, a step son, Cole Lycett, two sisters, Kimberly (Wade) Levan, Kerri (Tim) Wilkey, two brothers, James Bolles and Aaron (Michelle) Bolles.  Also surviving is his Fiancée Dawn Lycett, two grandchildren Evelynn Rose & Drew Jaxon, nieces & nephews; Megan & Matthew Levan, Josh Bolles, Jillian Van Houten, Addison & Andrew Bolles and Dakota & Charlotte Wilkey.

   Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday, Feb 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Wednesday afternoon from 2-5 PM.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia, with Rev. Adam Wiegand, officiating.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia, NY 14063 or to Special Olympics of New York, Inc. 2821 Wehrle Drive, #7, Williamsville, NY 14221.

    I coach my son’s team for bowling- that’s how I know Dan. He was certainly the most enthusiastic cheerleader for his bowling team. He will be missed.

    I always enjoyed talking to Dan at Pizza Hut. He was a very kind and thoughtful person.
