Herbert James “Jim” Everhart, 90, passed away on Sunday December 31, 2023.  He was born in Forestville on May 8, 1933.

Jim was predeceased by his by his parents, Russell “Tut” and Agnes “Rosie” Everhart, a sister Virginia Kittinger and a son Nathan Edgar Everhart (Sandie).  He is survived by three sisters, Elaine Kapuscinski, Betty Louise Glass, Joan Carol Stone, three sons, Eric R. (Rhonda) Everhart, Todd J. Everhart, Darren P. (Jennifer) Everhart, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Jim was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Army as an EOD expert.  He remained active in the American Legion for many years and frequently participated in their Memorial Day activities.  He was a gifted trumpet player/musician in his younger years, performing as far away as New Orleans.  Jim loved collecting old cars and would spend countless hours restoring them.  He was a carpenter by trade, but also performed many other jobs throughout his life.  The loves of his life were his four sons.  While they were growing up, he never missed a single athletic event, music concert or ceremony they were involved in.  That devotion to family continued when his grandchildren came along, as he could frequently be found in attendance at their events as well.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  There will be no public services observed.
