Obituary Notice – Linda K. Miller (updated)

FORESTVILLE:  Linda K. Miller, 75, of Cedar Street, Forestville, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, while continuing to share her wit & enjoying ice cream, Tuesday, February 21st, 2023.  She was born in Dunkirk on April 28, 1947, the daughter of the late Chester and Frances (Wojnarowski) Kuciapinski.  She was a graduate of the former Cardinal Mindszenty High School, Dunkirk, Class of 1965, attended SUNY Fredonia & JCC and graduated from SUNY Empire State in 1981.

  Linda worked as a Social Worker for WNYDDSO in Perrysburg, for 34 years.  She also worked as a Caseworker for the Chautauqua County CETA Program and at Fredonia BOCES as a Teacher’s Aide.  Linda was a member of St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Forestville, a member of the Chautauqua County Council for the Disabled, and the Local Early Intervention Coordinating Councils for all the WNY Counties.  Her entire career was devoted to advocacy for people with developmental disabilities.  While at WNYDDSO, she was a Case Manager in the Family Care Program and the Family Support Services Program.  She later became coordinator of this program where she was responsible for development & monitoring of Community Based Programming in Western New York.  Linda enjoyed reading, gardening and antiques.

  Survivors include a son, Loren (Trish) Smith, of Cassadaga; a daughter, Rebecca (Eric) Worden, of Batavia; a step son, Bruce (Carol) Miller, of Alburtis, PA; a step daughter, Laura Schantz, of Emmaus, PA;  a step daughter in law Kathy Miller of Breinigsville, PA and a sister, Ruth Ann Panzica.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth L. Miller, Jr., whom she married on October 22, 1988 at Shorewood Country Club, Dunkirk, two brothers Ronald & Mark Kuciapinski and stepson Kenneth Miller, III.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 10th 2023 at 11 o’clock from Faith Community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Rose of Lima Church, Center Street, Forestville with Rev. Todd Remick, officitaing.

  The family suggests memorials may be made either to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701 or to the Forestville Fire Department, Inc., PO Box 299, Forestville, NY 14062.
