Obituary Notice – Lance D. Pope

FORESTVILLE:  Lance D. Pope, 52, of Forestville, died Sunday, February 27th, 2022 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, following a brief illness.  He was born in Dunkirk on November 2, 1969, the son of the late Dale and Alice (Thompson) Pope.

  Lance attended Forestville Central School and worked as a Crane Operator for Parker Marine Contracting Corporation in Charleston, SC.  He was an avid Bills & NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Lance loved camping with family & friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

  Survivors include his wife Cynthia A. (Mattoon) Pope of Forestville, whom he married on July 18, 2020, in the Town of Arkwright, a daughter, Montanna Pope, of Dewittville; a step daughter, Kayla Sobczak, of Forestville; a step son, Shawn Sobczak, of Dunkirk; three sisters, Peggy Panek, of Dunkirk; Connie Pope, of Fredonia; Rebecca (Jeffrey) Yacklon, of Dunkirk; and a brother, Chris Pope, of Fredonia.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Wayne Pope.
