SPRINGVILLE: James A. Dill, 79, a resident of Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home, East Main Street Springville, formerly of Reed Hill Road, Cattaraugus, died Sunday, September 1st, 2019 at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville. He was born in Old Bridge, NJ on May 3, 1940, the son of the late James Knight and Lena Lillian (Sitterley) Dill.
He owned & operated the former Dill’s Contracting, Cattaraugus, for 16 years and also worked for the former Roblin Steel, Dunkirk. Mr. Dill was a member of the Carpenters Local Union, the Randolph Masonic Lodge and the Tyler-Mizpah Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #97 of Portville. He loved to hunt, cook, put puzzles together and build furniture.
Survivors include his wife Pastor Carol J. (Grey) Dill of Cattaraugus, whom he married on March 26, 1983, in East Otto, four sons Jason Milks, of Huntsville, AL; Daniel Dill, of Cattaraugus; Paul (Renee) Milks, of Gasport; Matthew (Jenna) Dill, of Eggertsville; and two sisters, Sylvia Herkert, of Evansville, IN; Kelleen (Steve) Koonce, of Anderson, SC. Also surviving are three grandchildren- Grace, Kathleen (Clint) Harvey, Amanda (Michael) Dixon and several nieces & nephews.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6:30-7 PM, from where Eastern Star Services will be held at 7 pm followed by Funeral Services at 7:30 PM, with Pastor Wes Tessey, of the East Otto United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick, New Jersey.
