Obituary Notice – Virginia I. Snyder

SnyderVFORESTVILLE:  Virginia I. Snyder, 82, of King Road, Forestville, passed away Friday, January 4th, 2019 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk.  She was born in Silver Creek, on September 14, 1936, the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Herrington) Smith.

Mrs. Snyder was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1954 and was a charter & life member of Little Valley VFW Post #8374, Ladies Auxiliary, former Cub Scout & Boy Scout Leader and a former member of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, Silver Creek.  She enjoyed making crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include two daughters, Florence “Punky” Nichols, of Little Valley; Laura “Lu” Swan, of Forestville; two sons Harry Swan, of Randolph; Clifford Snyder, of Bemus Point; two sisters, Diane Tower, of Forestville; Doris Hahn, of Little Valley; and a brother, Ernest Smith, of Fredonia.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren Kristin (Ben) Stoll, Melinda Nichols, Justin, Patrick & Tracey Swan, Samantha & Nicholas Snyder, 2 great grandchildren Owen & Carter Stoll and several nieces & nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband George C. Snyder, whom she married on May 1, 1971, in Salamanca, by infant siblings Shirley & John, a brother Larry Smith and sister Flora Mae Libby.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM from where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock.  Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in East Randolph Cemetery.
