SHERIDAN: Charles “Charlie” W. Lucas, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Dunkirk.
He raised 4 children with his wife, the late Martha Lucas, whom he lovingly called “Mart” for 69 years. Mr. Lucas had six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was a WWII veteran. His passions were grape farming, growing vegetables and flowers. On any given day you could find him in the vineyards tying, trimming, chopping or spraying. In Mr. Lucas’ later years, he could be found singing to the piano- “How Great Thou Art”.
A Memorial Mass will be held from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 328 Washington Avenue, Dunkirk on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10 o’clock, with Rev. Dennis Reiter officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Sheridan VFW Memorial Post #6390, Route 20, Sheridan at 11:30 am.

Uncle Charles you will be deeply missed by us. When I was growing up you and Aunt Mart were always there for us. We loved visiting us on the farm and picking the fruits and vegetables when we were kids. All the fun and memories will always stay with me. Love and miss you.
