Obituary Notice – Stuart J. Haldane

HaldaneSGOWANDA:  Stuart J. Haldane, 87, a resident of Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, formerly of Hanover Road, Silver Creek, passed away Friday, May 26th, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada on February 14, 1930, the son of the late Gordon and Margaret (Henderson) Haldane.

He worked as a Senior Lineman for New York State Electric & Gas, for over 30 years, retiring from the Silver Creek location.  Mr. Haldane enjoyed reading.  At age 70, he acquired his motorcycle license and he & his wife, Donna, rode together on his new Harley-Davidson Electra-glide with a side car.  They loved riding and being together.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Leone, Tammy Thompson, Heather (James) Sinclair, a son, Michael (Helene) Haldane and a sister, Mary Misener.  Also surviving are grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Donna J. (Lawrence) Haldane, who died January 29, 2017 and a great granddaughter Cherish P. Leone.

There will be no visitation or services observed.

    We will miss Stu and Donna. We rode many miles together as Glory River Riders. They were always a lot of fun to be with. Our condolences to the family.
