Obituary Notice – Lyle R. Franklin

franklinlFORESTVILLE:  Lyle R. Franklin, 84, of King Road, Forestville, died Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at TLC/HN-Lake Shore Hospital, Irving.  He was born in the Town of Hanover on October 14, 1932, the son of the late Gerald R. and Edna M. (Mason) Franklin.

He currently owned Franklin’s Honey & Apples, Forestville, since 1978.  Mr. Franklin worked for Falcone Farms, Forestville for a long time, retiring in 1997.  He was a member of Hanover Masonic Lodge #152 F&AM, Forestville, the Ismailia Shrine Temple, Chautauqua County Bee Association and the American Bee Association.  Mr. Franklin was very active with the Silver Creek Grape Festival, where he served as President at one time and enjoyed beekeeping.

Survivors include two sons Jeff (Heidi) Franklin, of Germany; Kevin Franklin, of Forestville; a daughter, Brenda (Stephen) Nowicki, of Dewittville; a brother, Gerald (Grace) Franklin, of Florida; and a sister, Joyce Reece, of Gallatin, TN.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Edna (Cummings) Franklin, whom he was married to for 55 years when she died February 20, 2013 and three brothers Albert Franklin, Leroy G. Franklin, Sr. and Robert Franklin.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. James Spiller, pastor of Sheridan United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Pioneer Cemetery Forestville.  A Masonic Service will be conducted by members of Hanover Lodge #152 F&AM, Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock in the funeral home.

    What a wonderful man and friend. You were always giving.. always doing something and busy as ever. You loved, and you were so loved! You will be so missed by everyone, the community, your friends and especially your family.. but always remembered and always loved! Until we meet you in Heaven, pray for us. I thank God for you and the chance that I could see you in action doing so many wonderful things..and to get to know you!
