SILVER CREEK: Esther C. Griewisch, 94, a resident of TLC/HN-Nursing Facility, formerly of Burgess Street, Silver Creek, died Wednesday, August 10th, 2016 at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Silver Creek, on October 13, 1921, the daughter of the late Hugo and Christine (Woelfle) Griewisch.
Ms. Griewisch was a graduate of Silver Creek High School, Class of 1939 and began her banking career with the former Silver Creek National Bank and continued for 33 years, retiring as an Assistant Trust Officer. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Silver Creek, where she served as Treasurer for many years and was a former Treasurer for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include a first cousin Carolyn Padden, Godchild Deborah Joyce and lifelong friend Anna Frederickson of Silver Creek. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Louis J. Griewisch, who was killed in action during WWII on January 6, 1945.
There will be no visitation observed. Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock from Trinity Lutheran Church, 15 Porter Avenue, Silver Creek, with Rev. Travis Grubbs, pastor officiating. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.
