Meadows, 84, of Rt. 39, Forestville, died Thursday, February 5th, 2015, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness.\u00a0 He was born in the Town of Arkwright, on April 13, 1930, the son of the late Walter W. and Emma (Watrous) Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>He was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1948 and a graduate of Alfred State College with an Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics.\u00a0 Mr. Meadows served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and received the Combat Action Ribbon in 2000.\u00a0 He worked as a Welder Repairman for the Ford Stamping Plant, Woodlawn, for 35 years, retiring in 1989.\u00a0 Mr. Meadows was a 60 year member &amp; Past Commander of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville, Life member &amp; Past Commander of Sheridan VFW Post #6390, member of Sheridan United Methodist Church, where he was member &amp; past Treasurer of the Men&#8217;s Club for many years, member of Darwin&#8217;s Health Club, Fredonia and the National Wildlife Turkey Federation.\u00a0 He was an avid hunter, bowler &amp; golfer, was very dedicated to the Forestville &amp; Sheridan Communities and was a strong supporter of the local Republican Party.\u00a0 Mr. Meadows enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife Jeanette (Bishop) Meadows of Forestville, whom he married on April 15, 1989 in the former St. John Bosco RC Church, Sheridan, three daughters, Nancy (Marty) Schmidtke, of Saline, MI, Diane (Dale) Niederhauser, of Morgantown, WVa, Polly (Colin) Butler, of Oswego, two step daughters, Deborah (Don) Kron, of Cheektowaga, Diane (Mike) Rafan, of Fredonia, a step son, Stephen (Julie) Foster, of South Dayton and a sister, Lena Dix, of Forestville.\u00a0 Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Jimmy Russell, Michael (Megan) Schmidtke, Lisa Schmidtke, Jake (Amy) Niederhauser, Audrey (Cutler Holland) Niederhauser, Amy (Jeff) Stanislaw, Brian (Greg) Kron, Jason Kron, Brittany (Brad) Kron, Logan Foster, Lyndsay (Nick) Foster, Carson and Dawson Rafan, 4 great grandchildren Kodiak Holland, Lona Foster and Andrew &amp; Mattie Stanislaw.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by his 1st wife, Virginia (Yonkers) Meadows, 3 brothers Walter J. &#8220;Corky&#8221; Meadows, Willis &#8220;Dutch&#8221; Meadows, Charles Meadows and 2 sisters, Emma Van Valkenburg and Agnes Hilton.<\/p>\n<p>Friends are welcome to call Sunday from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 pm at Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville, from where Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o&#8217;clock, with Rev. Bruce M. Ellis, pastor of the Forestville Wesleyan Church, officiating.\u00a0 Interment will follow in Sheridan Center Cemetery, where Military Graveside Services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestivlle.<\/p>\n<p>The family suggests memorial donations may be made either to the J.
