Taylor, 80, of Forestville, died Sunday, May 25th, 2014 at his residence, following an extended illness.\u00a0 He was born in Smith Mills, on September 19, 1933, the son of the late Edward and Marion (Rater) Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>He served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt. in the Korean War.\u00a0 Mr. Taylor worked as a Bus Driver for Silver Creek Central School, from 1968-2008.\u00a0 He also previously worked as a mechanic for the former Allegany-Ludlum Steel, Corporation in Dunkirk and was the owner of the former Vet&#8217;s in Hanover Taxi.\u00a0 Mr. Taylor was a member of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville, long time member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and a member of Gage Chapel Community Church, Smith Mills.\u00a0 He enjoyed model airplanes, motorcycles, birds &amp; rabbits.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Gage, of Forestville, Shari (Michael) Miller, of Dunkirk, a son, Robert Taylor, of Fredonia, two brothers, Bill (Shirley E.) Taylor, Warren (Karen) Taylor, two sister-in-laws Shirley Taylor &amp; Norma Taylor, loving companion Noreen Stachowiak and an aunt Elsie Baker.\u00a0 Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren &amp; several nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by 2 brothers Marshall &amp; Richard Taylor, an infant sister Kay Elaine Taylor and by a son-in-law Darryl Gage.<\/p>\n<p>There will be no visitation observed.\u00a0 Memorial Services will be held Saturday morning, June 14th, at 11 o&#8217;clock from Gage Chapel Community Church, Smith Mills, with Rev. Michael Pollock pastor officiating.\u00a0 Private Interment will be in Smith Mills Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville.<\/p>\n<p>The family suggests memorial donations may be made either to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494 or to HOSPICE Chautauqua County, Inc., 20 W. Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750 or to Sheridan Fire Dept.
