Warner, 85, of Silver Creek, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her home following an extended illness.\u00a0 She was surrounded in death by her loving family.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner was born in Silver Creek on June 1, 1928, the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Agnes E. (Erdle) Bebee.<\/p>\n<p>She was a graduate of Silver Creek Central School, Class of 1946 and a member of the National Honor Society.\u00a0 After graduation, Mrs. Warner was employed at the former Bartlett Oil.\u00a0 She worked at Petri Bakery for 12 years and was employed as a toll collector on the New York State Thruway for 25 years, retiring in 1990, at age 62.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner spent the remainder of her life traveling, volunteering and enjoying life.\u00a0 She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Silver Creek, where she served as both Elder and Deacon and sang in the church choir.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner also served on 2 Pastoral nominating committees.\u00a0 She was a past member of the former Priscilla Circle and a member of the Deborah Circle, serving as President for many years.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner also served on a number of other various church related committees.\u00a0 She worked on the annual Geranium Sale and the Grape Pie sale during the Grape Festival.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner was active in numerous other organizations, committees and activities.\u00a0 She played on several bowling leagues including Thursday morning Ladies League.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner had also belonged to the former Fortnightly Club, the former Silver Creek Garden Club, Silver Creek Senior Citizens, Sheridan Happy Seniors, Tuesday Afternoon Book Club, the Lake Erie Bird Club, and volunteered for RSVP and at St. Columban&#8217;s on the Lake for over 20 years.\u00a0 As an avid traveler, she had visited every state in the Union, with the exception of Texas.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner had also traveled extensively in Canada.\u00a0 She also went on many cruises, enjoying each and every port of call.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner was an avid hiker, at age 84, she hiked a mile and a half on the Appalachian Trail in Maine.\u00a0 She also was an enthusiastic &#8220;birder&#8221; and outdoor lover.\u00a0 Her binoculars were her constant companion.\u00a0 Mrs. Warner loved to crochet gifts for her family and friends, she was a self-taught quilter.\u00a0 Two of her favorite projects were patchwork quilts for her daughters.\u00a0 For many years, she saved old clothing from each daughter and herself.\u00a0 From these, Mrs. Warner made the quilts using patches from all their favorite clothes.\u00a0 Each is a beautifully done memory &#8220;quilt.&#8221; Mrs. Warner loved her family, her friends and she loved &#8220;life&#8221;, especially living life.<\/p>\n<p>Her survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Ferri, of Jamestown and Christine (Ted) Kennedy, of Silver Creek.\u00a0 Also surviving are a grandson Michael (Karrie) Sortore of Russell, PA and a great grandson Michael T. Sortore of West Seneca.\u00a0 Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Mildred Bebee Burns and by a brother Marcus Carter Bebee.<\/p>\n<p>Friends are welcome to call at the Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Saturday from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 pm.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o&#8217;clock from the First United Presbyterian Church, 35 Park Place, Silver Creek, with Rev. Thomas Burian, officiating.\u00a0 Private Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.\u00a0 A Prayer Service will be held Saturday evening at 8 pm in the Funeral Home, led by Rev. Thomas Burian.<\/p>\n<p>The family requests memorial donations may be made either to the First United Presbyterian Church, 35 Park Place, Silver Creek, NY 14136 or to HOSPICE Chautauqua County, Inc. 20 W.
